Sarah Unruh, President

As the founding President of Mars Area Ball Hockey, Sarah brings a deep passion for the sport and a strong commitment to community development. Sarah has been immersed in the world of hockey for the past 15 years—as a parent, volunteer, and advocate.
With a long-standing dedication to service, Sarah has contributed extensively to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and numerous local community initiatives. Her leadership, vision, and grassroots efforts over the past three years have been instrumental in launching Mars Area Ball Hockey and aligning it with the National Scholastic Ball Hockey League (NSBHL).
Sarah is excited to see the program take off and is committed to ensuring it provides a fun, competitive, and inclusive environment for players from 3rd through 12th grade. Her mission is simple: to grow the game, build character, and create a space where young athletes can thrive both on and off the deck.
“Starting Mars Area Ball Hockey has been a labor of love, and I’m incredibly proud to watch this community come together through the game.”

Jennifer Bainbridge, Vice President
With a strong passion for community service, Jenn brings many years of leadership experience through roles still currently serving on the Mars PTO Board, Mars Area Public Library Board, and several youth organizations in the Mars area. As a long-time volunteer and local small business owner in photography, she's committed to supporting our mission by fostering program growth in elementary thru highschool within the Mars community.
Fun facts: Jenn was born across the pond in England, and the Bainbridge's are a billet family and have hosted boys in the18U Pens Elite Hockey program since 2022.
Barbara Ann Lewis, Secretary

Barbara Anne Lewis is a dedicated kindergarten teacher in a nearby school district, with a deep passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a positive learning environment. Outside the classroom, she is actively involved in her community—volunteering at her church, coaching her daughter in Mars Youth Cheer, and helping to manage her son's ball hockey team.
A proud wife and mother, she finds immense joy in cheering on her son and husband as they pursue their love for ball hockey. After seven years on the sidelines, she's finally learned what "offsides" means, but more importantly she's developed a true appreciation for the game and its impact on youth and families. Ball hockey has become a meaningful part of their family life, and she's grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this incredible sport and the Mars community.
